DC Marijuana Justice, a cannabis activist group from DC, have announced that they plan on giving away a free bag of marijuana to those willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The group has called this effort "Joints for Jabs," and they hope this will bring awareness to both cannabis reform and the importance of getting a vaccine. The way it will work is that cannabis growers will be outside of vaccine shot centers handing out the weed. The dates, locations, and times will be announced after local vaccination sites are chosen.
Nikolas Schiller, the co-founder of DCMJ spoke:
“We are looking for ways to safely celebrate the end of the pandemic and we know nothing brings people together like cannabis. DCMJ believes that cannabis should be consumed safely and responsibly, and the pandemic has made this incredibly difficult for many adults to share their homegrown cannabis. When enough adults are inoculated with the coronavirus vaccine, it will be time to celebrate – not just the end of the pandemic, but the beginning of the end of cannabis prohibition in the United States.”
